It has now been possible to create a business profile on Instagram for about a year. However, that does not necessarily mean that many people are aware of this option. Everything changes so rapidly online that it is almost impossible not to miss some of the latest developments along the way.

If you and your business are on Instagram, this blog post will show you how to convert your regular Instagram profile into a business profile. It is easy to do, and there are several advantages to making the switch.

Important to note

To set up a business profile on Instagram, your company must have a Facebook profile it can be linked to. Facebook owns Instagram, which is good business for them, but it also provides advantages for you. When you create a business profile on Instagram and link it to your Facebook page, you can quickly and easily invite your Facebook friends to follow you on Instagram as well. It is a clever feature!

How to do it

  1. The first step to creating a business profile on Instagram is to log into the standard profile your company is currently using. If your business is not yet on the platform, you will need to create a new profile.
  2. Once you are logged in, navigate away from the newsfeed and go to your profile. When you are on your own profile, tap the three dots in the top right corner.
  3. By tapping the three dots, a list will appear that you can scroll through. A little way down the list, you will find ‘Switch to business profile’. Tap on that option:
