Gain insight into how Amazon continues to grow and transform the e-commerce landscape, and learn how your business can leverage these developments to boost sales and drive growth.

If there is one thing we as consumers increasingly demand, it is convenience – and if there is one company that truly understands this, it is Amazon!
Not long ago, the American e-commerce giant introduced Amazon Key – a service that allows Amazon to deliver packages inside your front door, even when you are not at home.
This is made possible through a combination of their Cloud Camera and a wide range of digital locks. The entire delivery process begins with Amazon verifying that the correct Amazon employee is at the right location at the right time with the correct delivery. This is done via an encrypted authentication process. Once this is successfully completed, the Cloud Camera starts recording, and your front door is unlocked just long enough for the Amazon employee to place your package inside and leave again.
As if this service was not ambitious enough, Amazon has now expanded with Amazon Key In-Car. Here, the authentication process is the same, but instead of granting Amazon access to your home, you temporarily unlock your car boot, allowing your package to be delivered while you are, for example, at work.
With the In-Car service, you receive a four-hour delivery window, and your vehicle must be parked in a publicly accessible parking space no more than two streets away from the address you provide when placing your order.
To take advantage of this innovative service, you must be an Amazon Prime member and live in one of 37 selected cities in the USA. To begin with, Amazon Key In-Car will only be available for owners of newer Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac models. Although this service has not yet arrived in Europe, it is surely just a matter of time.
