Sell on Amazon

Sell more with Amazon

Amazon is one of the world’s largest online retailers, offering you a unique opportunity to sell your products both in Denmark and internationally. However, achieving success on Amazon requires a sharp strategy and the right approach. At WeMarket, we possess the expertise to help you start listing and selling your products on Amazon.

Selling on Amazon – why?

Amazon has been a hot topic in recent years, and as early as 2015, it was already the third most popular webshop in Denmark. This trend will only continue as online shopping grows. But it’s not only in Denmark that Amazon is gaining ground – the same applies to markets like Germany and the UK, not to mention the USA, where Amazon dominates the market. If you are an online shop owner looking to expand into other markets, it is a clear advantage to be present on Amazon.

There is no doubt that Amazon is the marketplace of the future for online retail, as the platform already boasts a higher sales rate than Google. You should take full advantage of this – and we know exactly how you can.

Get started selling on Amazon

To start selling on Amazon, you have two options to choose from:

  • Amazon Seller
  • Amazon Vendor

The first option is an effective way to get started, as registering as a seller gives you both the opportunity and responsibility to sell directly to customers. With Amazon Seller Central, you gain access to the entire European market and, by adjusting your Amazon advertising, you can start selling in multiple countries.

Amazon Vendor, on the other hand, is a more advanced sales channel that requires an invitation or direct application. This option is suited for those who want Amazon to manage orders, including customer service and returns. The channel also gives you access to their advertising platform and AMS service.

We will, of course, help you determine which channel is best suited for your business on Amazon.

Amazon FBA and FBM

When starting out on Amazon, you can choose which type of seller you want to be. There is a distinction between FBM (Fulfilment by Merchant), where you manage and dispatch your own orders and handle logistics, and FBA (Fulfilment by Amazon), where Amazon handles everything for you, allowing you to focus solely on selling your products.

There are advantages and disadvantages to both seller types. As an FBM seller, you have complete control and flexibility, as well as lower costs because you manage everything yourself. However, this also places high demands on you and your business, as Amazon sets high standards for quality, inventory, delivery times and much more.

If you opt for an Amazon FBA solution, you do not need to worry about these requirements, as Amazon takes care of everything. The downside is that you lose some control and incur additional fees for their service.

There are many more pros and cons to both seller models, which we are happy to discuss with you in detail when you are ready to start selling on Amazon.

SEO is a crucial step to selling on Amazon

If you want to succeed with Amazon sales, it is essential to focus on Amazon SEO. Amazon uses a unique algorithm that rewards the use of a wide range of relevant keywords. It is crucial to create your product listings with this in mind, as it directly impacts your ranking in search results.

To get off to a strong start with Amazon SEO, we recommend conducting a keyword analysis based on your products, enabling you to create targeted Amazon ads that are prioritised in the search results from the beginning.

Effectively showcase your products with Amazon AMS

When you register as or are invited to become an Amazon Vendor, you gain access to AMS and the advertising system on Amazon Seller Central. This gives you the advantage of marketing your products on their advertising platform with keyword-specific campaigns, placing your products in front of customers who are searching for them.

By targeting specific search terms relevant to your products, you are well positioned for success with your Amazon marketing. With our expertise, you can refine your audience targeting, campaign placement and overall strategy to ensure you get the best results for your advertising spend.

Amazon listing

If you want to achieve success with Amazon sales, it is vital to set up your product listings correctly. This means using the right keywords, bullet points and images. It is important to prioritise Amazon SEO, as Amazon’s A9 algorithm heavily considers these elements when assessing the relevance of your products and determining their ranking in search results.

There are many factors to consider and be aware of when creating an Amazon listing. However, with the right expertise and our knowledge of both listing optimisation and Amazon’s algorithm, we can ensure you get off to the best possible start.

Brand Registration gives access to A+ Content and additional benefits

With an Amazon Vendor profile or Seller profile and trademark registration within the EU, you can make your product pages look more professional using what Amazon calls Amazon A+ Content. This is content we often recommend to clients for special products, as it provides extended product descriptions with graphic layouts, making your products appear more professional and visually appealing – and ultimately boosting sales.

This feature is free to use but does require trademark registration. If you do not have this yet but are able to obtain it, we generally recommend you do so, as A+ Content brings a range of additional benefits on Amazon. We are happy to advise you further so you can ensure the best possible outcome from your efforts.

Amazon Buy Box - a key element for success on Amazon

The Amazon Buy Box is one of the key areas we focus on when helping our clients sell on Amazon, as it is estimated that 82% of all sales on the platform go directly through the Buy Box.

In order to advertise on Amazon, your product listing must have a Buy Box. However, this is not automatically assigned – it depends on how you sell on Amazon, your performance statistics, and your customer satisfaction.

The Buy Box is crucial because it increases the conversion rate of a product listing and has a significant impact on your overall success on Amazon. We will guide you through all this and more when we help you get started on the platform.
